With all these low-fat, gluten free lunchtime counters it was comforting to find a place as wholesome as this baguette place. Yes it is packed with carbohydrates and the portions look almost too big to eat, but it's worth the indulgence.
I ordered a Portuguese chicken in a wholemeal baguette which was promptly rustled up by the sandwich-smiths in the background. The take-away sandwiches are served in a aluminium-lined bag to make eating easier for munching, but there is a small seating area too.
The filling was simple, almost purely lettuce and chicken, so could have had more variety. The sauce was delicious, redeeming the whole thing, and once I had got through the whole thing I felt very satisfied!
